3 Days to Olympia's Arrival

Hello Olympia,
it's just another 3 days!
Mummy and Papa went on a date today.
It's like our last couple Mon-date?
We headed to Bt Indah's Daiso to stock up on the anti-fly/mozzie thingy.
Oppz, I think we swept every available piece off the shelves!
Had lunch at this yummy Thai restaurant.
The set meals were good and economical!
Drinks + Lunch + Dessert for 2 pax only cost us SGD10!
Mummy also sort of started some intensive indulge.
Yesterday had Teh-Ais and today had yoghurt.
If I don't have all these this week,
it will be another month's wait!

Papa just gave Mummy a yummy coconut!
I bet you are enjoying it also with all the kicking?
Hehe...
Nice and cooling!

Tomorrow we're taking your fur-bro, Charcoal, to the hotel for one week while we prepare for your arrival! We will miss him but I'm sure you will enjoy his company as you grow older also :)

When we adopted Charcoal, we only know his birth month to be December.
He shall have his own unique birthday, so, Dec 1 it shall be!
Happy birthday to you furry kor kor :)

5 Days to Olympia's Arrival

I kind of find this song suitable for Olympia.
Haha ...

More than a decade ago in NTU,  I took up a module on translation.
Like I said, more than a decade ago ... So ... I try! Simplified version :p

自我有著你 快活我太多
Since I've you, I'm much happier
日日讓種種感覺 好好的擦過 叫我更喜愛做我
With days passing by merrily, I love being myself even more

夢裡有著你 我夢到結果
With you in my dreams, there is a destination
站著在欣賞觀眾 歡呼聲散播 我也更相信自我
With the audience and the cheers around me, I have more faith in myself

能夠有你 縱有挫折不難過 仍舊衝刺我未怕跌墮
With you, setbacks are not upsetting and I climb back even tougher
旁人問你是誰 你是誰 我說你是 心中找到的信心
Bystanders asked me who you are and I said you're my confidence

星也閃照眼中 海也跟我相擁 所有所有感覺也美 當開只有你
Shining stars and embracing the oceans, every feeling is wonderful with you
一切因你發起 一切很美只因有你 What a wonderful life
Because of you, everything is beautiful

風會吹暖我心 陽光會跟我親吻 所有所有感覺也美 多喜歡有你
Winds warm me and sunshine embrace me
Every feeling is beautiful and I love having you
一切因你發起 一切很美只因有你
All because of you, what a wonderful life

I'm always thankful to my family who stood by me through the good and especially the bad. Then came Laogong who of course gave me his unconditional love. With Olympia, I then have to take on the role of giving her the unconditional love. I told Laogong not to call me Mummy (he usually calls me Laopo) because I don't want to be just the motherly Mummy for Olympia. I believe and I know I will still take on the role of being a Laopo.

It's a conflicting feeling as The Day is nearing but well, no time for that ... I will enjoy these few days with the whatever swollen feet and gigantic expanded body and then ... enjoy the pain (however much, I'm an advocate of painkillers and will definitely not be a heroine) and joy and happiness and love on The Day and after ...

Life ... Is going to get better!
Negative people, shut up! :p
Positive people, way to go! :D

You're the best gift ever...

Hello Dear Olympia,

You'll be starting out on Week 36 tomorrow.
Including today, it's another 7 days before we see you.
In other words rather, next week this time, we will meet one another for the first time!
Mummy and Papa can't wait to see you of course,  haha, but honestly, I'm also thinking of the pain and recovery.
Hiya,  whatever!
Mummy will chill and relax as usual and take things as they come.
The other day,  Dr. Yang told Mummy that I've a huge bump (ie. You) and I should quickly take some pictures.
Papa joined in the fun and we took some Hawaii-style Christmas themed photos.
Mummy love how the maxi twilly and scarf ring turned out quite nice with the tulle.
This Christmas, Mummy will be staying at home with u...
Don't like the term confinement because I'll not be doing those super typical confinement. Haha.
I want to bath and be happy and enjoy no matter how bad other people have been describing what it should be like or tired I'll be and whatever.
Life goes on with you.
I'll have a happy motherhood no matter what other people negatively comment or say, "Hiya, later you will know."
Life goes on even better,
because you're the best gift ever.

Lots love.

Olympia is almost 37 weeks!

Hello my dear Olympia,

How are you?
Mummy is tired but happy.
We'll be seeing you in 8 days time,
just 8 days,  only 8 days!
Papa has been driving mummy around to catch up with friends.
And sweet lovely mummy friends also have been driving me around.
Yesterday,  Mermaid Jie Jie and Steph Jie Jie also drove Mummy around.
We're so lucky.
Mummy haven't even manage to collage the photos!
And those taken with Auntie Christine today.
So sweet of Auntie Cyn to buy the lovely pink romper with the little stretch of tutu!
I think I want to get a matching tulle!
The organic halter mummy ordered is also here already! Yeah!
Alright...
We have to pack more things to bring back to Ah Mah's house, repack the cabin luggage for hospital stay (Auntie Cyn suggested a larger one), and whatever else to pack!
For now...  Stay good in Mummy...
See you next week!

Lots love!

You are 35 Weeks + 6 Days, Olympia!

Hello my dear,

We just returned from Gleneagles to our place...
Was tempted to swim but the sun is scorching... So... NO... Haha.
Next time when you are training under Papa, make sure you apply lots of sunscreen.
I don't know if SunPlay will still sponsor us, but no matter what, I'll buy you lots of sunscreen.
Otherwise, Popo will also.
Already I've prepared for you baby organic sunscreen from Meixian Jie Jie's shop.
Anyway,  mummy gained a bit of weight...
Well, you gained too.
I wonder if it has to do with the swollen feet also.
So much water in my feet!
Received a parcel today and I totally forgot what I ordered!
Tore it open and well, it's another of your onsie :p
I actually bought a bigger size but I think, you can wear it earlier than expected.
Keep growing, Olympia.
You're now 3.2kg!
Grow well and grow strong!
See you next week and see you on Dec 5!

Lots love.

Third Last Monday with Olympia in Me :)

 Hello my dear Olympia,
Today is the third last Monday with you in Mummy ...
It's less than three weeks to your arrival!
You stroller was delivered today!
See how happy Papa is!

We had a great day out also ...
Papa bought Mummy the yummy coconut drink.
I'm having this twice weekly.
After sending our car for servicing,
we also watch Kung Fu Jungle.
Nice Kung Fu show ...
Now, Papa also wants you to learn Kung Fu?!

After the movie, we shopped a bit and also chilled out at Daiso,
Bought more stuff for you. (Never ending, I know right? :p)
Also bought something for your Fur Bro... Haha ...
Charcoal looks so adorable ya? Yes?

We then had dinner with ZhiShin Jie Jie, Joee Kor Kor / Uncle and Wayne Kor Kor (I forgot his request to call him Kor Kor or Uncle)

You must be feeling very full now?
Mummy is!
In fact, we did not just have dinner.
We had steamboat dinner, lok lok as second round and finally at the finally-opened U Desserts!
Well, Mummy cannot have the usual sweet stuff and opted for Red Bean Paste :)
However, both feet are still swollen!

See you on December 5 morning my dear girl.

Lots Love!

Medela*Hermes*JJ*Apple*Samsung for Olympia

Dear Olympia,

Medela

Mummy sorted the stuff in the 'pump bag' today.
The motor (or whatever that is called) is charged.
I will sterilised those necessary parts too!

Hermes

I was also packing up all your gifts the other day and decided to use them to build you a xmas tree! Next year, we can all set up the xmas tree together. Papa and Mummy had so much fun setting up the tree always and Papa will always be the one to put up the star. I think he might let you put up the star next year! I also cannot wait to unbox all your gifts and use them on you. Our first xmas! I hope that you will like everything in the orange boxes, well, Mummy always does! I was going to wash your blankets and towels when I realised you might not have enough blankets! One for Ah Mah's house, one for our own house ... I think we need one for Popo's house/car use right? I better go get you another one!

JJ

Papa bought you this fan when he was in BKK three weeks ago.
Haha, Actually we already have two battery-operated fans but he said he couldn't resist this and he will also use this to fan you!
I cannot remember if I blogged about this previously but well, we have booked air tickets! We will bring you on your first trip in March to BKK to make merit and meet our dearest Thai friends who are literally like our Thai family! Hopefully you're as excited as us!

(NO) Apple*Samsung*Etc

Mummy and Popo are very determined that you do not come in contact with phones and tablets.
Mummy has also told Ah Mah about this because she is going to be your main caretaker.
Some people are quite dependent on gadgets for their children and I have absolutely no right to comment or judge.
Well, every set of parents have their own preferences, understand?
Don't blame Mummy for not allowing you to come in contact with gadgets and I do not need you to thank me as well.
It is not the first time Mummy has come across such articles and it is not because of such articles that influenced Mummy and Popo's decision.
Papa and Mummy are building up resources of activities to help you with your development in all areas as well as to prepare for homeschooling.
We hope you will find it fun-filled and meaningful with lots of sports and outdoor activities complementing our academic syllabus.
Papa has planned to start an infant swimming class just because of you.
He has delayed in starting a class despite the high demand for it and this time round, he will do it for you!
Parenting is definitely not going to be easy, but we will definitely do it well just for you!
See you tomorrow during the scan!
Be a good girl and show us your smiley chubby face!

Lots Love.

As we wait for the arrival of Olympia...

So it is no longer just Summer ...
Or Jerry & Summer ...
My dear Olympia,
since it's a free day at home
for papa and we've finished
(almost) our online shopping,
I made Papa take some pictures
with mummy!
Here they are!

Mon - Wed of Week 32 with Olympia...

Monday 27/11
Hello, my dear Olympia ...
How are you inside mummy?
I think the space is a big congested?
Hang in there, a couple more weeks to go!
After a 4-hour nap at Popo's house yesterday,
I couldn't sleep last night.
Chatted on Line with Auntie Mermaid for a while,
shopped online for awhile,
Chatted with Auntie Zoelyn for almost 2h ...
Finally, I think I fell asleep before 3am.
I think the aching body contributed to the insomnia.
Mummy and Papa relaxed the morning away.
We had tea and watched drama as usual.
(I think this morning alone,
Mummy watched 4 different drama series latest episodes.
Papa watched 飞虎2 with me)
And now, I'm so bored again.
Watching Catch-Up TV: 绝对Superstar.
It's not all play and no work.
I did prepare some updated materials for the jie jies and kor kors
coming for the Secondary One Preparatory Classes.
In between, Mummy and Papa went out for lunch
and some grocery shopping.
Wanted to buy the mattress for your cot
and playpen but could not decide on suitable ones yet.
Will get them these two weeks.
Mummy had her first coconut today.
Absolutely yummy!
At night, we were clearing out the storeroom and papa's office.
Threw some.
Sold some.
Make way for even more space in our house.

Tuesday 28/10

This is mummy's rest week and there is no lesson.
Papa went to the market as usual to buy mummy fresh food to cook.
Yesterday, mummy had grilled chicken, so today,
I decided to cook the chicken drumstick in
chicken broth and chicken essence.
Today was yet another simple and blissful day.
Papa and mummy went to Tesco to buy coconuts for Popo and mummy.
Also bought some stuff for you.
Spent the afternoon watching more drama series  and slacking away.
Chatted on Line with Auntie Chris and Auntie Carol for awhile.
Papa had two lessons today and I decided to follow him back to Estuary.
Mummy also swam and then we had dinner.
Ah Mah cooked dinner for us.
Of course, mummy had her daily dose of birds nest from Ah Mah too.

Oh yes!
Mummy received the tulle skirt she ordered yesterday!
Absolutely loving it.
Perfect match for your skirt!
So excited.
Maybe we can wear this for CNY!

Wednesday 29/10
Mummy sent papa to the airport early this morning.
It's supposedly our monthly trip to make merit in Bangkok.
However, Olympia, you are growing much bigger
(Well done! Good job and Keep it up!),
mummy could not fly with papa.
Off he went to make merit, conduct a lesson and shop for us!
It's 10.52 a.m. now, mummy will be going shower and change
so that we can meet you Godmama Ni for lunch soon!
Entry to be continued later!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a whopping nine hours that mummy has been out!
Not really tired, maybe because the actual walking
and shopping is only about three hours?
Met your Godmama Ni at One Raffles Place for Paris Baguette.
You must be very excited to be kicking all the time
because you are with Godma.
See how pretty your Godma is!
We also shopped around a bit and Mummy bought
you some white pieces.
Love them!

(Just now, Auntie Shar also bought you clothes, again!)
When Godma left, I shopped around a bit more before heading
to do my nails and lash extension.
You see, mummy is really a vain mummy :p

After these two appointments,
Mummy was checking the phone and realised that
Auntie Marj, Shar, Daze & Irene were at Ikea!
Well, mummy decided to go join them!

It is always fun meeting up with mummy's friends!
You have been a good girl also.
You kicked and wriggled around as usual but you
did not cause too much uncomfy moments for mummy.
Good girl, Olympia!

Papa just messaged mummy.
He boarded the plane already.
He also bought a lot of things for you and for mummy!
Mummy just realised that actually I could have gone with papa!
However it was also good that I did not.
In Bkk, mummy won't be able to keep sitting and resting.
Any walk more than one hour makes mummy tired.

Mummy shall now watch drama and slack and unpack more shopping loot.
We will go to the airport after midnight to pick up papa.

Rest well for a while, Olympia,
before we head out again!

Lots Love.

Life of a Vain Mummy-to-Be for the Past 32 Weeks...

(Kind of a long post. Tried to categorise and paragraph properly
but it ended up like verbal vomit :p)

Good morning, Olympia.
You are in your 32nd Week today!
How fast time flies!
We will see you in about 6 weeks time.
I guess I'm still going to chill and relax
(Auntie Shar doesn't like the word chillax -
she said it's kind of ... I forgot that adjective)
because no matter how excited and nervous I am,
one will never be fully ready for a new journey in life.
So, we will all take it as it comes!
No point worrying and bothering excessively.
Life goes on and Life will always be great!
I hope you will grow up like Mummy,
where you don't let insignificant people and comments bother you.
Or worry about being judged for what other people think they are doing right.
( I waited till I'm quite old to realise this, hope you will acquire this earlier in life.)
We walk our path with a good conscience.
I also hope you will be like Papa,
who is a simple and hardworking man,
working hard and always motivated to soar to the next higher point.
Contentment is fine but we never give up trying to reach the next peak.

Mummy has been very blessed and very lucky to enjoy the pregnancy.
Thanks to you, my first trimester was simply sleepy, sleepy, sleepy!
You are such a good girl!
After which, the second trimester till now,
Mummy has been enjoying her time with you,
shopping (for you and myself, haha) , meeting up with friends,
watching drama whole day long (mummy even has a notebook to
record the shows and episodes completed), more sleeping and just slacking.
I'm loving all the new clothes I have purchased but at the same time,
I hope they will be too big for me when I give birth to you.
Mummy will work hard to lose the weight!
Of course, with a swim-director-Papa, Mummy tries to swim at least once a week too.
Papa says this is 胎教.
Mummy is also blessed with your ah gong, ah mah, gong gong and popo's love.
Also, all of mummy's family and friends' love.
SOOOOOOO much love.
I've never had so much birds' nests and cod fish in my life.
Haha. Papa has been very conscientiously buying me cod fish.
Ah Mah and Popo have been feeding me with birds' nest like every other day.
On a record breaking day, I had it thrice!
Breakfast at Ah Mah's place.
Lunch at Popo's place.
Supper at home.
Overwhelmed with birds' nest.
I hope you will benefit from all these good food!

Papa has also been very generous with Mummy shopping for you.
In fact when he went past Hermes, he asked for those cute booties for you.
Too bad there was no stock but luckily :p
Mummy bought them already!
I know people always tell me to buy something neutral that can be passed down
or not to buy so many designer pieces.
I still think I want the best for you.
And IF you do have a di di or mei mei,
I will also make sure he or she have the same amount of NEW things.
Yes, there will definitely be hands-me-down however
Mummy will be fair too.
I also have said this many times,
blessed you are to have the love of everyone
with gifts of all sorts.
Remember to grow up thankful,
very thankful.

The other day at Dr. Yang's, I asked if I can have eyelash extension on during delivery.
YES! CAN!
Haha. initially vain Mummy has already packed two sets of falsies into my delivery bag
(so that I'll look good in photos), but since permission is given for the extensions,
Let's Do It!
I've made two appointments.
One will be next Friday (to look nice for the weddings I'll be attending
in the month of November).
One will be the end of November, to welcome you with my favourite
makeup-less but big eyes look!
We will all look nice in the photos.
Cutie you, wide-smile Papa and big-eyed Mummy!

See you real soon, Olympia.
Our family has been blessed and so,
we must always be thankful and do good to the society.
Always remember to return to the society, Olympia.
Do it in your own way, within your means.
There is a Chinese saying “取之社会,用之社会”.
It means that you should remember to give back what you have
taken or benefited from the society.
Grow up well, Olympia.
We will try our best to educate you.

Lots Love.

Hey, Olympia...

Hello Olympia,
I was trying to decide on a baby bag for you (ok, for me to carry)
and thought of using the B35 BUT
it is too heavy!
Decided not to, especially when I still have to carry you!
I have also stocked up your hankies, towels, blankets, etc.
They are soooooooo soft!
Love the little booties too.
Auntie Carlene helped to pick them up from the store.
I think one set of hankies and towel were picked up by her also.
Being the typical kiasu mummy,
I decided that one set is not going to be enough!
Well, so I rushed to the store and picked up another set!
In the meantime, I have found 2 suitable baby bags (from my current collection).
I will have to decide or well, maybe carry them alternatively?

Thank you to all the Aunties who have been pampering you!
Auntie Zoelyn bought you the track suit.
(ready for your swim training?)
And cute stuff Auntie Marj bought!
Lots more.
Sorry, I haven't been diligent in taking photos of all your new clothes
from the wonderful aunties.

Papa bought you this Hello Kitty.
It is so him to buy you this.
Hello Kitty in her swim wear and goggles!
I was surfing the net and remembered that I bought for Kyan kor kor
a BMW car and BMW bike to match your Godma Ni's BMW.
I must get you a Merc to match Papa's Merc!
(Too early? Opps)

I've been eating far too well and consuming far too much carbohydrates.
The sugar level shot up slightly higher than it should be.
Sorry, Olympia.
I've been conscientiously cutting down and counting carbs!
Look at mummy's healthy breakfast.
Love the new milk I've found!
Low in carbs and high in calcium.
Tasteless, yes but all for the good of you, and honestly
for mummy!
I've been losing weight as you gain.
Please do absorb everything that I am eating.

Since controlling my carbs and making sure I am consuming Low GI food,
I've lost a couple of kgs.
I am absolutely glad!
I even found some good and healthy snacks!
Missing the Essence of Chicken and I read the nutritional label.
Good!
Low carb!
Shall cook Essence of Chicken, Chicken!
