Tuesday's Happiness

Some shuffling of lessons and I had lessons in the morning. After lessons, met my 最爱损友 at MBS to shop an have lunch. Gosh. We've truck loads to things to talk about after not meeting for a couple of months despite our constant whatsapp messages.

While having our lunch, Laogong sent me a pic of his new clock. His beloved clock was here! From MBS I could sense his smiles all the way from Sembawang.

损友managed to get a pair of new shoes.

Me: Laogong, she bought a pair of new shoes, I didn't.
Laogong: That's good, I'm so proud of you.
Me: My size is not available :(
Laogong: ...

I like the flat ones. Platforms suits her. Sobs. No size. Fated? Will check BKK :p

In the end, I bought a small little something for myself! :D Decided on red instead of PINK. I already have quite a couple of pink stuff :)

Had a good day with my 损友 :)
Had good news from my kids and they results.
More to come I hope!

Monday's Happiness

Laogong and I were in striking outfits! It's as though we're two walking highlighters :p

Had lunch at Sushi King. Shopped a bit. Chilled out at J.Co.

Great off day with Laogong as usual! :)

Spent a day with her at Merlion Park, Chinatown and Ion. Had lots of fun with her. I was super tired after walking for more than 6 hours!

Darrell met up with her yesterday while I was with the Bali Babes at Coastal Settlement.

We had lots yummy food but I shall just post pic of my fav.

Celebrated Jan's birthday in advance.

Had late lunch with Black. Thanks to Elyne, I ate some her dessert before the last class!

After date with Black, headed home to prepare dinner.

I'm glad Laogong love the dinner.

[Slept and awoke - cooled down after sleeping over it. Yes, I may be judging. I may be opinionated but as a person with humanity and compassion, I cannot accept how it was reported and sort of explained about how it seemed the award was dedicated to someone who lacked the caring element in LIFE. To me, it still seems that the wrong value is being applauded. Apologies to those who find my words too strong. I made no change to them.]

I read with disgust how a teacher can leave his dying wife to accompany his students for an overseas competition and win an award - Caring Teacher.

Now, what sort of husband does that make him for not spending his wife's last few moments together with her? Is this the kind of care and concern MOE is promoting? Is this the kind of dedication to work being promoted by MOE? Leaving the dying wife to accompany the children for a competition? Does Northland Secondary School have the same stand?

Did the panel feel that this caring teacher is the man you want your son to grow up to be and the sort of man you want your daughter to marry? Does Mr. Yeong have children of his own? Is this the example he is going to set? Being rewarded for such dedication? Holding back tears as he dedicated the award to his wife? Tears of regret, terrible regret I would have.

I used to be a teacher at a local primary school. Teachers there were warned about not taking leave to celebrate child's birthday or not to take the entire day leave to attend a child's prize presentation. Teachers were asked, "How will your class pupils' parents feel if they know this is the reason the teacher applied leave for?" I am totally sure my class pupils' parents, as parents themselves will understand. Or when I took compassionate leave and the vice-principal asked me to make a decision there and then when will I be having my make up lessons. Are the principals and vice-principals modelling how a caring education officer (whether senior or general) should be like? What about simple things like having meetings beyond 5.30pm (more than 10 hours in school)? So what if it is the EXCO? Are the family members of those in the EXCO not as important as annual reports, etc?

What has happened to the MOE family life education programme? Did MOE train their teachers to become indispensable? So much so that Mr. Yeong WAS THE ONLY teacher who could accompany the children. What kind of values is MOE cascading down to our Principals and teachers and finally to the children? The children who might be the future Principals.

Vicious cycle, isn't it?

Was telling Marj, I didn't feel the pain when I was shopping, back in the car, I felt it ...

Thanks to Marj and Chris, haha, I became a member today.

Headed back to class after shopping. Had a good time with my kids as usual.
Only after class, while driving home, I felt the pain again :(
Hopefully it will be better tomorrow!

Special Delivery

As usual, the alarm rang at 0815 every Wednesday. Laogong's lesson is at 0900 and I usually tag along.

Today, the body was protesting. Laogong coaxed me into sleeping in and I did. Woke up only close to 1000. Did 15 minutes of slow walk to loosen the body. It worked. Feels better.

Laogong returned from class with 爱的早餐. Porridge. Not that he likes it, but I love it!

Tiring day ...

Favorite phrase for now: Unanswered prayer doesn't mean you are forgotten. It just means there is a better plan.

Tired today.
Seems to be tired.
Must be the fall yesterday.
Slight awkward body aches.
Neck seems strained.
Nothing major.
Just very tired.

Might be all the change in schedules as well.
Massive changes and adjustment.
Hope my kids will all do well!

Thanks Mrs. Lim and Teresa for the yummy popiah and bean curd respectively. Yummy motivation for myself.

Back home, Laogong bough me fish soup. I just wasn't in the mood to do anything. In the end, made two frames :)

Found my lost gshock!!! I didn't find it. JR did :)
They are going TW tomorrow.

Laogong and I can't wait to go back to our retirement homeland. Haha. Bangkok!

Terrible Fall

Was going to change and get ready to find Cher and Ash then to meet Val Val but alas ...

I slipped and fell in the loo :(
Terrible loud thud.
I sort of told myself it's no big deal and there's no need to cry BUT the tears streamed down.

The shin was in terrible pain. Worst place ever to get knock against. MIL immediately used some medicated oil and rubbed my leg for me. Luckily I used my hand to break the fall, didn't hit my head. Maybe I was too tired, wasn't paying attention when I walked into the loo.

Laogong grounded me and I wasn't allowed to go out. He tucked me into bed and I rested a bit. Felt better but the leg still hurt a little. Val Val was so nice, called me and chatted with me for 50 minutes :)

Cher also called me before Ash' bedtime but well, I ended up talking with Ash 3/4 of the time instead! It was a decent conversation with Ash! She was able to answer my questions in also proper and good English (with Cher correcting her in the background).

"Yes, not Yah. I am going to sleep not I going to sleep"

Since grounded, I decided to embark on some projects. My deserted hair accessories, lost its elasticity, I cut off the old bands and changed it. Shall use it instead of dumping it in a corner.

Poor weather ...

Poor weather.
Always being blamed for this and that.
"Aiyo, why so hot? The weather is terrible!"
"Rain again? My clothes won't dry on time. I can't swim!"
Haha. Again and again, we blame it on the weather.

However, I'm sure we're all thankful for the bright sunny days to dry our clothes as the cold rainy days to cool down the temperature.

It was scorching hot in the morning and now it's raining cats and dogs.

Mummy and papa tabao-ed and j managed to nap for 20min before heading to pool! Luckily Laogong finished his lunch and I managed to get into the car before the rain came!

Brought organic apple juice for Laogong but he didn't dare drink it :p too sour he said. The limping bird is strong. Is a survivor! It was Laogong's lunch mate just now :p

Fabulous Friday

Supposed to have lunch with bb and Chris after Kyan's Sports Day but Kyan was too shack.

Lunch was at Paragon's Cova.

Reached home slightly earlier than Laogong. Rare actually.
Waited eagerly for him to be home and off we went for dinner :)

Dinner was at Buckaroo.
Yummy :)

Came home and can't wait to paint my nails again.

When Marjie bought Dragon for me, I thought it should be the perfect Big Apple Red replacement, but not, not bright enough for a Red Polish lover like me. Like it still.

When Belle bought Rouge Fatal, it wasn't that kind of red but it was a nice maroon. Like it.

Now, determined to get That Red, I bought Pirate today. This is it :) Fantastic. Found it. LOVE IT.

(Busy) Beautiful Life ...

Very busy (though short) week ...
With the SA1 examinations these two weeks,
I've tonnes of changes in my schedule ...

Happy Labour Day (Holiday)!

We had lessons in the morning followed by brunch at Tampines Gigantic Giant and shopping at Ikea. Went to Bugis and shopped a bit.

The weather was extremely warm and humid! Anyway, it was a day of leopard prints (more than what we usually see)
1. We saw a couple wear couple t-shirts.
2. We saw an auntie wearing it.
3. We saw a guy wearing a leopard prints jacket and scarf (and he wore a white cartoon babyish rabbit hat).

Headed home at 2plus and decided to do a video. Haha. Thanks to Laogong, he gamely allow me to direct the video production :p
