Amos Lee

The last time I read the first book (blue) was when I confiscated some kiddo's book.
Yesterday, I happened to see the green book on my kiddo's table and told her to lend it to me once she is done.
Hee, so nice of her.
She passed it to me at the end of the day and said, "Lend you first!"
Nice kiddo read!

Monday's over soon!

Mondays and Tuesdays are my busy days.
Good in the sense that they bring me back to reality from weekends.
Today was a fruitful day!
Finished lots of work with my classes, which also resulted in lots of work to be marked.
But well, my weekend begins on Wednesdays with much better timetable.
I was trying to count my hours in school to see if it's beyond the legal hours. Haven't finish counting. Will do so later.
Finally went to see Dr. Liew for my sore knee.
Wasn't that bad till I had to do the fluid removal.
She put me on some medication.
Hope all will be fine!
Have decided that from now on, I'm only going to work 8hours daily.
If I reach home and have already work 8hours in school, I'm not even going to bring work home.
The only exception is Fridays when I want to mark compo. And maybe 3hours each on weekends.
No way am I going sell my life to my career and forsake my family and friends.
Principals always praise HODs and apple polishers for working extra hours for working when they are sick.
How come they are not looking into why the extra hours need? (Inefficiency and ineffectiveness maybe?)
How come they are working when they are sick? (What happened to the big hoo ha about social responsibility?)
Schools has been becoming like a centre of packages. Every management personnel is trying to come up with this package and that package (to a large extent, on the pretext of helping pupils - more about glorifying personal desires), what happened to good old teaching?
I feel sorry when I've to rush for time and use that as a reason to tell my kids - We've no time.
I'm a teacher because I want to teach, not because I want to do projects.

Yumz.

Eventful day ...
After lunch with dear, headed home.
Slacked. Watch drama. Marked compo
Yeah. I finished one class of compo marking.
Marking for Language and Content is so much more tedious.
Uncle and Auntie came over for dinner.
Fruitful day and of course, my great week (which might be filled with ridiculous amount of admin sch work) is coming my way!

The Rooster

The Rooster is always popular, extravagant and creative. They can be brutally honest and generally like being showered with attention. They are wonderfully loyal friends and also give advice freely – whether they are asked for it or not! Family means the world to the Rooster and they are one of the most loyal signs in the Chinese zodiac.

Forecast for 2011:
The Year of the Rabbit will be a much quieter year than 2010 for the Rooster. However, the Rooster will have to curb his natural exuberance and enthusiasm just a bit in 2011 and practice some patience and common sense. On the work front, it will be vital for the Rooster to work closely with his colleagues and practice his networking skills. This will stand to him during the months of March, April, November and December when unexpected developments happen . All the work he does now on the career front will pay dividends in 2012, the Chinese Year of the Dragon. The Rooster should also consider any opportunities he may have to study or for training. This would go extremely well for him and again benefit him greatly later on in the year. On the social and romantic side of life, this will be a much more settled and quiet year, which will be to many a Rooster’s liking. March, July and August look to be the most active on the social scene. A word of warning though – the Rooster must take care to temper his words with friends and not be too harsh. A quarrel or end of a close relationship could result. Financially, the Rooster may have a few home-related expenses this year with repairs, decorating and renovations. It would be wise to manage any project sensibly and shop around for the best deal; Chinese Rabbit years can be expensive for all signs. On the whole, 2011 looks like being a pleasurable and encouraging year for all Roosters.

Happy Sunday ...

Chilly morning.
Wanted to swim but dear said rest the knee about.
The knee has been painful for a week or so.
I love to sit cross legged, but recently, there is a pain whenever I unfold/straighten my leg :(
Seems like fluid in my left knee (swollen compared to right knee).
I'll go see a doc soon and not swim/walk so much for the time being.
Gear with my (again price hike from yck pool) coffee, chewy yummy donut (norin bought from taiwan) and lots of compo.
I shall have a good morning!
Some pics from yesterday's outing.
Had a look @ Shar's place then to brunch.
We needed 3 tables @ maxwell and we look so funny can, each 'guarding' a table.
And of course then all the mad shopping!
I was so tired that when I reached Mummy's shop, there was an empty bed, I zonked out immediately!
Too much shopping!
(Check out my first cool buy! Am going to get one for Black too. Heh)

Therapeutic activity on my bb

Lengthy day in school. And I mean extremely lengthy. Had to get dear to buy us curry puffs at 530. I was dead hungry! And after, we still went kfc! I had to eat that one piece! Booked our genting trip after dinner. Just finished Bondi Rescue's Lifeguards Ironman. Nice! Can't wait for Dear's ironman. Bog Liao. Decided to change my pinky's cover. Light pink cover seems faded and old. And so, the dark pink one :) timed myself. Took about 5min to change. New boh Liao record.

Grandma

Grandma
© Michele S. Reeves

Grandma,
A baby cradled in your arms...
Teaching me your gentle charms.Growing up with you by my side...
Learning from you never to lie.
To understand and not judge too...
Love and kindness I also learned from you.
Through the years you watched me grow...
Teaching me everything I'd need to know.
Listening to every word I've said...
And every word I've wrote you've read.
You've been there for me to the end...
Until the day for you, God did send.
Now you watch me from up above...
Shining down on me your heavenly love.
I will miss you with all my heart...
Thank you for being there from the start.

Ah Mah brought me up ...
Since young, mummy and papa had to work and thus, I grew with with XL (for a while with XY too) and Ash @ Ah Mah's place.
We fought. We played. We laughed. We cried.
Other than the fact that childhood usually holds the most memories,
time with Ah Mah can never be replaced.
I can remember 10000 things about Ah Mah and incidences at her place.
How XL and I love her 'dao yu bak', how we fought for the drumsticks, how we (or was it me?!) broke vases, how I knock my head on tables, how I steal gripe water to drink :p (it is yummy!) ... and the list goes on ...
When I had to go back to Bedok Reservoir (by then, mummy and papa got us a domestic helper), i would wail.
Sly me would then call up 5th uncle, and get him to bring me back to Ah Mah's place,
only to have mummy and papa bring me back (forcefully ?!) later.

I always look forward to CNY ...
I love the humongous gathering at Ah Mah's ...
I love Ah Mah ...
And I miss her lots ...

Yumz ...

Shocked!

We were on our way to mustafa when a reckless driver switches lanes not once but twice unsteadily. She was using the phone! No earpiece! She got the shock of her life when I snapped pic of her!
