Certification Begins!

With home-schooling in mind,
I decided to create certificates for Olympia as she learns
and progresses right from young.

They are sort of like a list of achievements she has and
will achieve now and in future.

Grow well, Olympia.
Be kind to others and yourself.
Be happy from within.
Be healthy.

Lots Love.

Medela*Hermes*JJ*Apple*Samsung for Olympia

Dear Olympia,

Medela

Mummy sorted the stuff in the 'pump bag' today.
The motor (or whatever that is called) is charged.
I will sterilised those necessary parts too!

Hermes

I was also packing up all your gifts the other day and decided to use them to build you a xmas tree! Next year, we can all set up the xmas tree together. Papa and Mummy had so much fun setting up the tree always and Papa will always be the one to put up the star. I think he might let you put up the star next year! I also cannot wait to unbox all your gifts and use them on you. Our first xmas! I hope that you will like everything in the orange boxes, well, Mummy always does! I was going to wash your blankets and towels when I realised you might not have enough blankets! One for Ah Mah's house, one for our own house ... I think we need one for Popo's house/car use right? I better go get you another one!

JJ

Papa bought you this fan when he was in BKK three weeks ago.
Haha, Actually we already have two battery-operated fans but he said he couldn't resist this and he will also use this to fan you!
I cannot remember if I blogged about this previously but well, we have booked air tickets! We will bring you on your first trip in March to BKK to make merit and meet our dearest Thai friends who are literally like our Thai family! Hopefully you're as excited as us!

(NO) Apple*Samsung*Etc

Mummy and Popo are very determined that you do not come in contact with phones and tablets.
Mummy has also told Ah Mah about this because she is going to be your main caretaker.
Some people are quite dependent on gadgets for their children and I have absolutely no right to comment or judge.
Well, every set of parents have their own preferences, understand?
Don't blame Mummy for not allowing you to come in contact with gadgets and I do not need you to thank me as well.
It is not the first time Mummy has come across such articles and it is not because of such articles that influenced Mummy and Popo's decision.
Papa and Mummy are building up resources of activities to help you with your development in all areas as well as to prepare for homeschooling.
We hope you will find it fun-filled and meaningful with lots of sports and outdoor activities complementing our academic syllabus.
Papa has planned to start an infant swimming class just because of you.
He has delayed in starting a class despite the high demand for it and this time round, he will do it for you!
Parenting is definitely not going to be easy, but we will definitely do it well just for you!
See you tomorrow during the scan!
Be a good girl and show us your smiley chubby face!

Lots Love.

Or Jerry & Summer ...

Mummy packed the hospital bag, Olympia!

Hello my dear Olympia!
Mummy was surfing the FB group for Dec 2014 Mummies
and I saw that Auntie GT has popped on 5/11!
Like what popo told mummy past few days,
pack the bag!
Mummy finally packed the bag and will be leaving
it in the car!
I also did a check against Auntie NL's blog.
Quite the same! Hehe.
You know how chill and relax mummy is... so...
some of the things, mummy will get papa to buy
them from the hospital.
Well, I still have not decide on the outfit and matching slippers.
Haha :) well, you know, #vainmummy!

Today mummy and papa went shopping and bought
you your first swimsuit!
Papa will start a new baby swim class in your name!
You will be the real life model!
There are so many other mummies asking for the class!
We also bought the Hello Kitty bedsheets for the queen bed
in your room, not that you will need the bed,
more for decorative purposes.

We also went to Ikea to get you some pink stuff
before we went for the Secret Garden Concert.
Love the concert!
Did you enjoy the music?
Your papa loves instrumental music.
Next time Yiruma is here,
we shall go for it also!

These are the three songs that remind mummy of you.
We will have a new beginning soon :)

Prayers for you :)

This is also one of mummy's favourites.
Thank you for coming into our lives.
Thank you for the family that we have.
Popo and gong gong have given everything to mummy and jiu jiu.
Mummy and papa will give you everything too.
We must never take things for granted and put
in the most effort for the family.
You know mummy is not going to be the typical mummy
nor that kind who will stick to you ,
no matter how other mummies say mummy will change for you
once you are out.
Always know that mummy loves you and loves herself
(which is very important!)
Giving you 24/7 of my time doesn't make me the best mummy
nor NOT giving you 24/7 of the makes me the worst.
So you see, mummy doesn't allow people to judge and
when you grow up, you must not allow people's
judgement to make you feel bad too!

Thank you, Olympia.
Lots love.

PS: See you during the gynae visit's scan later!

Gynae Visit to See Olympia

Hello, Dear Olympia,
The visits to Dr. Yang have been scheduled every 2 weeks since the last visit,
instead of every 4 weeks.
This means we'll be seeing you live, real soon.
Mummy wore a new dress today.
Last couple of weeks to wear this big dresses.
Then again, I'm always wearing big dresses.
Auntie Marian chose this for Mummy when Auntie Cyn took us to this shop
in Far East Plaza.
We waited quite a while at the clinic and so,
Papa and I decided (no, rather I asked Papa) to take photos.
Mummy lost another kg (yeah!) with the strict diet,
so the nett gain for Mummy is now 6kg.
At the same time, no worries, you are 2.2kg and will be 32 weeks this Saturday.
Dr, Yang also said that by the end of Nov, she will be able to give a rough date of your delivery.
It will definitely be much earlier than the given EDD of Dec 20.

We headed to Thomson for lunch and of course Mummy had to stick to the healthy diet.
Well, I'm getting used to it.
As for you, please grow well and strong!

Lots Love, Muaks!

Eating Healthily for Olympia (and myself)

Glad to find the Pacific Chicken Broth.
Solved a lot of hassle and saved a lot of time!
Decided to use the broth and Essence of Chicken to cook the chicken.
Laogong has been going to the market diligently to buy me fresh chicken, salmon and cod fish.
They are mainly my staples now.

Based on instincts, haha, I added the broth and two bottles of essence.
Boiled it and then simmered it for about 15 minutes.
The smell was very good.
This method is really hassle-free!
I don't even have to season / marinate the chicken.
While simmering it, the chicken will absorb the taste of the broth and the essence.

Simple low carbohydrate dish.
Think the highest sugar content dish is the apple!
I didn't eat the whole apple.
Hehe, I have a third of it to Charcoal.
And to aid in my burping (I don't know how to burp!),
Perrier is a good friend.
Carbonated and no sugar.
Ended the meal with a pot of decaf tea
while watching my drama series.
Safe for pregnancy.
If not for Olympia, I'll still be eating unhealthily.
Well, good that I am eating healthily, losing weight while being pregnant,
baby gaining weight still.
Shall attempt to keep to this healthy diet after confinement!

More of your things, Olympia!

1. Your playpen is ready in our SA home! It's so pink! I 's currently in our bedroom but we'll pinkify your room soon! Need to get that Queen size Hello Kitty covers and stuff. Oh yes, we also need to set up and do up your cot in Estuary.

2. Papa woke up from his nap (he had a bad headache) at 2300 and insisted on fixing up your pp even though I asked him to continue sleeping.

3. Today, Papa was also happy to find you The Chair! We both had that when we're young. Kind of surprise to know it cost so much but well,  it's handmade and most importantly, it's for you!

4. I bought Papa a magnet. I'm sure he'll be your First Love :)  He sure is going to dote on you!

It's already Week 30, Olympia!

Hello Olympia,

It's already Week 30!
Dr Yang says that we're expecting your arrival early!
Papa got a shock!
He doesn't have another 2 months plus to prepare!
Well, I'm fine.
Come when you should and when you can...
I guess I better start washing your clothes by the end of the month.
Mummy was telling Auntie Sennett that you might be born on a day closer to her baby and not after as estimated.
Wait till mummy meets her for (decaf)  tea / coffee and you can meet your friend, both of you still in our wombs!
Today I went shopping for you,  in a way!
I'm getting extremely used to tasteless Silk and so, I might continue on with it even after delivery.
Oh yes, we're also going to order the confinement food soon,  to qualify for the early bird discount!
Kick on and swim on,  Olympia!

Packing for Olympia

Dear Olympia, your room is full of things that we've bought for you. Of course, also with things that mummy's wonderful friends bought for you.

I've to start packing and categorising your things. I guess all the clothes must be washed and ready by end of November. Well, you've a whole wardrobe of clothes!

Vain mummy also has sort of decided on two baby bags which must of course match mummy's bags. A medium size one and a large size one. Don't worry, we will both always look presentable despite people saying that when you're born, we've no time for this and that. We'll definitely do fine.

Love these two customised romper that I ordered online (using papa's credit card). Haha. Papa has been very generous with you!

In the meantime, happy swimming and kicking. See you soon (when it is time) !

It's Week 29

Hello, Olympia,

It's your 29th week in me!
Happy kicking (and swimming)!
You papa really can't wait to bring you swimming.
It does get uncomfortable at times with your constant and powerful kicking (or swimming), but please go on!
Kick and swim on!

Mummy met Auntie Cyn and Auntie Carlene today for brunch and Uncle Patrick for tea. Will blog about that later!

Goodnight, Olympia!

Hey, Olympia...

Hello Olympia,
I was trying to decide on a baby bag for you (ok, for me to carry)
and thought of using the B35 BUT
it is too heavy!
Decided not to, especially when I still have to carry you!
I have also stocked up your hankies, towels, blankets, etc.
They are soooooooo soft!
Love the little booties too.
Auntie Carlene helped to pick them up from the store.
I think one set of hankies and towel were picked up by her also.
Being the typical kiasu mummy,
I decided that one set is not going to be enough!
Well, so I rushed to the store and picked up another set!
In the meantime, I have found 2 suitable baby bags (from my current collection).
I will have to decide or well, maybe carry them alternatively?

Thank you to all the Aunties who have been pampering you!
Auntie Zoelyn bought you the track suit.
(ready for your swim training?)
And cute stuff Auntie Marj bought!
Lots more.
Sorry, I haven't been diligent in taking photos of all your new clothes
from the wonderful aunties.

Papa bought you this Hello Kitty.
It is so him to buy you this.
Hello Kitty in her swim wear and goggles!
I was surfing the net and remembered that I bought for Kyan kor kor
a BMW car and BMW bike to match your Godma Ni's BMW.
I must get you a Merc to match Papa's Merc!
(Too early? Opps)

I've been eating far too well and consuming far too much carbohydrates.
The sugar level shot up slightly higher than it should be.
Sorry, Olympia.
I've been conscientiously cutting down and counting carbs!
Look at mummy's healthy breakfast.
Love the new milk I've found!
Low in carbs and high in calcium.
Tasteless, yes but all for the good of you, and honestly
for mummy!
I've been losing weight as you gain.
Please do absorb everything that I am eating.

Since controlling my carbs and making sure I am consuming Low GI food,
I've lost a couple of kgs.
I am absolutely glad!
I even found some good and healthy snacks!
Missing the Essence of Chicken and I read the nutritional label.
Good!
Low carb!
Shall cook Essence of Chicken, Chicken!
