TWFEC ... Where Every Child Is A Bundle of Promises and Potential

Sent from my BlackBerry Wireless Handheld from M1.

Excitement in the morning

Post dedicated to 最爱损友.
Thanks specially to Ms. F.
A whatsapp message from Ms. F caused much positive excitement for 最爱损友 and I.
The adrenaline was pumping like crazy.
Yes, yes. JUST a pair (no, two) of slippers.
Well, we love it and will want it in our collections!
最爱损友's reaction, almost immediate, "Buy both!"
She called and reserved for us.
Will wait for transfer of stock and then go down tonight to get them all!
Best part, I called 最爱损友, wanting to ask her something but boy boy picked up,
"Mummy 说照买。"
Haha. Just buy.
Classic.

Watched the movie with Laogong. Fantastic show.
Love it. Totally.

This noon, brought my sandals to Mister Minit and got the soles done.
Love it. Vibram is fantastic.
The other time, when I fixed the red ones on my Loubo, I were impressed too.
This time round, it did so again!

Great day.
Everything was great.
Great lunch at Waterfront with S.Gran, Jess and Ger.
Great 35 minutes at Great World :)
Great lessons.

After buying, wearing and getting used to the new sandals, the usual me is at it again.

"I wonder if there is another colour?"

"Should I get the platforms?"

Was surfing the net and I found this!

The flats come on black too!
Woohoo!
Better whatsapp my 最爱损友to let her know!
Shall end the post with a pic of us at Greenwich today!

Another Great Tuesday

Slept well.
Woke up happy.
Prepared and left the house to meet my IJ Family :)

Visited Southaven at 112.
Haha. I'm always known as the customer who bought (or buys) similar tops of different colours.
Changed from venue from TGIF to Canton Paradise.

Had coffee/dessert at The Food Republic.
Nice time catching up!

Lessons as usual after the meetup.
Thanks to Mrs. Ong, I had tau huay for dessert!
I realize parents like to buy me tau huay.
Healthy desserts :D

Slowing Down - The Power of Less

Back to Bedok Res' Home on a Sunday morning.
Lovely routine.
Too precious to give up for yet another tuition assignment :)
Time spent at home with family is priceless.

Since leaving the service, my aim was to live life.
As tuition classes' slots are filling up fast and filled,
I'm feeling overworked!
Turned down quite a few 1-to-1 assignments.
Filled up current classes.
I think I've enough kids :)
I don't need to earn tens of thousands a month.
I need to make sure every kid is getting what they deserve from me
and what I can give to the max.
There is a limit to how much I can do also :)
I do not want to shortchange them.

Sunday mornings are totally precious to me.
Time spent with family.
Mondays are totally precious to me.
Time with Laogong.
I do not want to shortchange them.

I can fill up many many other assignments and leave myself with no life but a significant income.
What's the point then?
Coming back from Bangkok, visited Nakhon Pathom, spent time with important friends,
Laogong and I sort of have some slight change in vision.
Some sort of an enlightenment.
Life must not be wasted speeding past.
I do not want to wait till I'm 50 years old before I regret or start going,
" I should have .."
There is never too much time.

Too precious.

Extract from Leo Bahauta and his 10 rules to slow down:
Slowing down is a conscious choice, and not always an easy one, but it leads to a greater appreciation for life and a greater level of happiness.
1. Do less
2. Be present
3. Disconnect
4. Focus on people
5. Appreciate nature
6. Eat slower
7. Drive slower
8. Find pleasure in anything
9. Single-task
10. Breathe

Extract from Keith C. Heidron - his life seasons and 10 ways to slow down:
There are likely many more ways by which you can slow your life down. A simple hammock and a warm summer day for a nap, an intimate conversation, telling stories to children, the list can go on and on. The main point is to slow down. The world can function without you for a little while. And no one is truly indispensable. If they were, we wouldn't have elections every few years.
1. Do One Thing At A Time
2. Breathe
3. Sit Quietly, Do Nothing
4. Listen To Music
5. Take A Walk
6. Take A Bath
7. Read
8. Play Like A Child
9. Be Creative
10. Seek Your Spirituality

Some overlaps in their viewpoints.
Ultimately, personally, I think, many things, (if not all) is a choice in life :)
If I want to do it, I can ...

It's only the beginning!

My kids and their PSLE MCQs Marathon (Part 1 and 2 only).
It's only the beginning :p
I always believe that Science MCQs should be a 60/60 section.
Besides training hard for Booklet B, Booklet A must remain strong!

Longest day of my teaching schedule.
Not too bad actually.
Had fun.
Had food (from the angel as usual!)
Had good news ...(la la la la la la ... wooohooo! more rest time!)
Had a lot of signs (both Laogong and I realised)

Current favourite song

Laogong and my cake ...

Was watching Cake Boss with Laogong and ...

1. Thought of Carol and her pretty cakes.
2. Dying to eat slices and slices of cake!

And today ...

When Laogong fetched me after my last class, this was waiting for me in the car :)

May's Last Monday ...

Laogong and I met Patrick in the morning and headed for a day in Johor.
Breakfast at Ah Piaw.
Can never get enough of it :)

Next stop was to visit the condo show flat at Bt Indah ...

We popped over to the actual houses to take a look.
Such coincidence!
Met Laogong's acquaintance who had already purchased one.
Met a very friendly auntie who is staying there,
brought us all around!

Second last stop was at Aeon Bt Indah ...
I had a total of 3 drinks at Black Canyon and then J.Co!
Extremely warm!

Last stop - shopping at Giant!
Great day out as usual!!!
Of course, we had a good time during our first Thai lesson too! :)

How observant are children?

Friday:

Kid: Your eyes look so big suddenly!
Me: Eyes? I didn't do any surgery.
Kid: Eyeballs I mean.
Me: Haha. Yes, yes, Big Eye Lense

Today:

Kid: Did you do something to your eyeballs?
Me: Hmmm, why?
Kid: They look big. Unlike the usual ones.
Me: You mean you know how big my eyeballs are?
Kid: Today you look like a manga character!

Haha. My kids impressed me. Hopefully they will be so observant when it comes to checking / editing their compositions or work! :)
