Holiday - Day 10

First day of the first aid course.
Glad it's over. 2days to go.
Dear picked me up after school.
Had dinner. Swim classes cancelled due to rain.
Decided to chill out @ coffeebean after going to the library and so after borrowing our 12 books, here we are.
Nice.
To read and drink coffee.
Cooling (or should I say cold) weather.
Love my holidays despite it jam packed with meetings, workshops and track.

Change sheets.
Mop floor.
Pack clothes.
Clean slippers collection.
Ok. I do not have 48h a day.
Shall do as much as I get.

26/11 FRI Day 7: MORE meetings. VP's farewell hi-tea. I'm tired. Not going to do work for the whole weekend. Am going to enjoy my drama. Read my book. Enjoy the photoshoot. Slack. Tidy my room. NO WORK.

Carnival is over!

Most children love carnivals!
They simply get the parents to purchase coupons for them, wait for the day ... Enjoy!
For us, we plan plan plan ...
And we plan plan plan ...
And we prepare prepare prepare ...
And we do do do ...
Finally, the last event for our 80th anniversary is OVER :)
School is over :)
One week of work week ...
Three days of 1st Aid Course ...
Sweet ...
Just like the sinful coconut candy that I just indulge in ...
And I finished 2 servings ...
I think I deserve the sweet treat after working for 10 hours :)

Over-Time ...

Yes, this week is an OT week.
On Sat there is the school carnival and effectively, for the 9am carnival to begin, we have to be there by 0730. Instead of parking within our primary compound, I have decided to pay $8 to park at the HDB carpark outside the secondary compountl.
I want to reach the carnival exactly @ 0730 and leave the very moment I can leave.
I love my kids and I love to teach them.
And I am sure they will love the carnival.
And so yes, I am willing to do it for them (alright, I do not have a choice).
BUT ... I do not want to devote every other additional minute to it ...
Having the carnival on Saturday means:
  1. I cannot buy breakfast home to eat with papa, mummy and boyboy.
  2. I cannot eat lunch with dear dear.
  3. I will be super tired by the end of the day and there goes the rest of my weekend.
And so, based on those points, I think no one can start saying why I am so eager to leave as soon as I can!

In school this week, lots of bad blood.

How the usual people can choose the usual targets and shout at them and then make their complaints heard and of course with the heads not clarifying as usual ...

How the head can make sarcastic remarks to middle managers about their JHs ...

I'm whinning? Not really, just feeling how my work environment is really bad. Papa never believes that there are bitches in my work environment and is always amazed by what I tell him.

Can you imagine that I also actually have to submit such a suggestion "Everyone should acknowledge SMS-es and Emails sent (upon informing relevant authorities about absence from school or necessary information) - even if it is a simple "Noted, with thanks" or simply "Noted". This is to prevent any misunderstanding from any parties."

Isn't it basic courtesy that all should acknowledge an email or a sms? Apparently not.

Whatever it is ... I love teaching ... I love my kiddos ... Today some of my P6 kids that I taught when they were in P3 and P4 came to me to write in their autograph books. I'm so going to miss them. The affection kids give is the best in a career and in no other career can one receive this ... They are the one who can make us go on ... Friends in school are the ones that can make us go on ... Kids and friends are the ones that can make the irritating people in school, are the ones that can make spys and backstabbers in school all vanish into thin air for that moment, before they appear again ...

Well, kids and friends :)

Selemat Hari Raya Haji

Eid al-Adha
(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from Hari raya haji))

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hari_raya_haji

Eid al-Adha (Arabic: عيد الأضحى‘Īdu l-’Aḍḥā) or "Festival of Sacrifice" or "Greater Eid" is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son Ishmael (Isma'il) as an act of obedience to God, before God intervened to provide him with a ram to sacrifice instead.[1] The meat is divided into three parts to be distributed to others. The family retains one third of the share, another third is given to relatives, friends and neighbors, and the other third is given to the poor & needy.

We visited Aunty Hasnah, Uncle Ghani and Amelina again :) this time round, with lots more people.
They counted 52! Superb turnout - 52 out of 83.
Almost of our Chinese New Year standard :)
Thanks to our good hosts, who made sure supplies of food and drinks are ever-ready and Amelina did the dishes! Thanks Thanks :)
The adults were busy catching up with one another, the children were busy playing at the pool, new editions (baby/ies) were seen ...

These two pics had to run out of frame.
Haha.

A Friend Like Henry

Finished the book finally.
A very touching book.
I teared at the end, when the dog - Henry, passed away.
At certain points while reading, I almost tear too.
It's not easy how parents have to deal with their children who have autism.
I remember back in another school, I had a severely autistic kid in class.
He couldn't get a place in the special school and thus had to be in the mainstream school.
Eventually, years later, he got a place in the special school.
Seeing how the tailored education he received did him good, I'm happy for him too.

Love this feeling ...

Finished the workshop @ SPH close to five.
Time was neither here nor there.
Not enough time to swim.
Not enough time to go home.
Contemplated shopping at Ion.
However, I've nothing to buy :)
Ringed Carol and told her I'll pick her earlier.
We can have a drink @ Rabbit Hole before popping over White Rabbit.
Since I've about 30min to spare, decided to head to Botanics Garden for some self-reflection time.
Sitting down.
Doing nothing.
Thinking maybe.
Read maybe.
Nice :)
