Eventful Week(end)

I'm lucky to have extended weekends (especially so after PSLE).
With an easy week and a slightly heavier workload on Saturday,
my weekends usually are from Saturday 4pm to Tuesday 3.30pm.
Had half of the Primary Sixes over for a mini BBQ on Sunday (20/10)
The other half went away already!
And here are the usual fun-loving girls in class.
(too fun-loving sometimes!)
Had brunch at Jln Petri on Monday (21/10).
Blogged about it in the previous post but I have to say this again,
"The mee rubus tulang is delicious!"
Had the monthly dinner with next door neighbours on Monday as well.
We were lucky to move to a very nice estate in SA.
We were even luckier to have nice neighbours!
Having moved into SA for almost a year,
I still have lots unpack / left in Bedok.
Finally, the last batch of shoes to pack/sell/throw. (23/10)
I have never done a post proper on moving to SA .
Maybe I should.
However, to sum it up, (while I was chatting with Laogong)
no matter how much we save from staying in SA.
The cost of living - Lower.
The quality of life - Priceless.

Life is kind to me.
I will do my best for my family and of course,
to return to the society.

Restoran Zz Sup Tulang @ Jln Petri

Thanks to Huimin's mom introduction, we had a good brunch.
The mee rubus tulang was very nice!
I won't have the nasi lemak again.
I think the nasi lemak at Setia Indah and Sayed Bistro is still the best!

Thank you, for being my students ...

I was chatting with an ex-student's parent / friend (I taught the daughter when she was in Primary 4 and she is Sec 3 now!) the other day when she told me that she still remembers what I did for her daughter. I seriously cannot remember what I have done. I simply teach to the best of my ability, even now.

Instead of them thanking me, I want to thank them, thank the students -  past, present and future.

Thank you for being my students.
Without you, I would / will not be able to teach and fulfill my dreams.
I realised that my first batch of students are 21!
Many are in tertiary institutions now.
More are coming to me.
Every student matters to me.

Thank you, for being a part of my life.

Morning Booster ...

While the Laogong is still in bed, I came down and thought that maybe I can mop the floor without disturbance. (I love doing housework!) Walked around the house and was pleased that Pinky did a good job! Decided to just make a cup of coffee and chill! Haha.
Great booster.
Grabbed the book, I mean the phone and started reading.
Played my current favourite music.
Some songs from my current favourite Taiwan drama.
Enjoying the house like always.
Blessed.

TGIF! Great start to weekend!

Just past noon and I've done a great deal!
Collected the books (for 2014) from the warehouse before seeing Laogong to the pool.
While Laogong was coaching,  I went over to JP for some supposedly window shopping.
As usual,  I cannot stay away from books.
Spent more than an hour at Popular and spent another few hundred dollars on more books.
Shopped for Christmas presents! Spending half of December in Thailand so I decided to prepare the gifts early!
Heading back weekend home for lunch now!
Fruitful morning!

Oh yes, and Char texted me in the morning :)
She got me Le Coton!
Woohoo! Thanks,  Babe! :)

Dates Marathon on 4 Oct

What a day!
Since I was available and was going to be in Singapore the entire day,  decided to meet as many friends as I can!
Had breakfast with Chris and NA @ Melba (Goodman Art Centre). The full Melba Cooked Breakfast and Truffle Fries were yummy! Just nice to be shared.
Had lunch with PEFX (we miss EL!)  @ Au Petit Salut (Dempsey). The Sgd 38 ++ Set Lunch was yummy too! Totally worth the price! Thanks for the treat, PN and Fio.
Had dinner with Wendy,  Cher and the kids @ Ichiban Sushi (IMM). Usual Jap food that we always have.  I was practically driving around Singapore! East to Town to East to West!

Tiring but great day, always nice to catch up with friends!

我只坚持我的梦想 / I Insist On My Dream/s

I was watching TVB’s Brother’s Keeper yesterday morning. In one of the scenes, I caught the line – I Insist On My Dream/s. I’m a dreamer and I always concur with what Woodrow Wilson said. I think no dream is too big or wild. A dream makes one, or at least makes me live more vibrantly.

I posted the above-mentioned title on Facebook and a friend asked me to share my dream. I simply replied that I am already living my dream (life) amd all I have to do is continue living it. Another friend asked me exactly how many dreams do I have. I simply replied that we grow great by dreams and dreams are infinite. I have new dreams, anytime, anywhere. Some dreams die like what Woodrow said and some, I nurse them and the dreams being me to see new light and to soar to a new high.

Whenever I chat with Laogong (well, that is like every day), I talk about how lucky I am, we are. We have been through the pits where family and friends stood by us and we have and are living the dreams where family and friends are happy for us.
Such blessings in life I have …

I remember the magical month spent in USA. I remember what Walt Disney said, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” In States, we see dream after dream came true.
Such blessings in life I have …

I appreciate the numerous trips to Thailand where our Thai friends (who we lovingly refer them to our Thai family) show us limitless love. I am thankful for the love we are able to shower on the children in the children’s home. I am able to see how small little dreams in children come true with supposedly insignificant small gestures by us.
Such blessings in life I have …

I love that I am able to carry on dreaming and improving. It is a life-long ambition to teach. With career changes, I see how the dream is able to come true, or rather, even more true. I teach. I simply just teach. Such blessings in life I have …

"20 years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did so. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in you sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

~ Mark Twain

I will go on dreaming. I know regrets are inevitable but surely I can minimise them.

Dream, because dreams make life, dreams make me.
