Dressing up...

The air conditioner is finally fixed!
The room is cold again!
Ollie can finally wear her many dresses.
Love this outfit.
It is so different from her usual holey outfits.
Check out our precious in a not so typical outfit of hers.
Of course, it wasn't easy to capture a perfect picture.
Still, it was great fun!

Book of The Week

Being a bookworm (book lover sounds nicer?) myself, I told Laogong that I want to build a library of books for Ollie.
Well, my area of expertise anyway.
With so much time being spent entertaining Ollie, I cannot be playing with her all the time.
I also do not want to read the same book again and again.
I think this week, I bought twenty over books. Or was it thirty?

Title: The Wishing Stone
Author: Steve Smallman
Illustrator: Rebecca Elliot
Value: Kindness

The colourful illustrations also attracted Ollie.
She tried to touch the pages.
I also like the last page of the book.
The Notes for Parents & Teachers will come in useful when Ollie is older and we can have a discussion!

Ollie is a Foodie (Video)

Ollie has licked grapes and apples previously.
Today, we decided to let her start on brown rice cereal.
She is totally loving it!
Mixed the brown rice cereal with breast milk.
Thanks to Germ,
I'm so going to use her menu as a guide!
Thank you!

Bought lots of new books for Ollie.
More reading sessions!

Thank You

Dear family & friends,

Thank you for keeping my family and me in your thoughts and prayers. Mum was cremated this morning. It was a tearful send off but we all understood that mum is now pain-free and in a better place. We were all told not to cry, so that mum 可以放下一切,一路好走. It really wasn't possible. Mum has been my extraordinary mum, an excellent wife, the best grandma, a righteous policewoman turned fantastic beautician who ran the most sincere and honest business, a staunch Buddhist who devoted the past eight years or so of her life to offer herself to help as much as she can, a great sister, auntie and friend, etc. She is our pride and always will be. We decided to keep the funeral low profile and did not publish an obituary. Apologies, if there were friends and customers from the business that we did not inform about Mum's passing. Thank you for understanding our decision. Something very true said by the monk today was about us feeling sad because we thought we had too short a time with mummy (or our loved ones). However, who or what defines a short and long period? What is consider a short or a long time? Every moment is precious and important. I'm glad I'm my mum's daughter. I'll continue to live like how you did, help like how you did and leave footprints in many people's lives. We are strong and must be strong because we know you want us to be. We will not grieve but celebrate your life and live on strong, real strong.

RIP, Mummy.

My First & Mummy's Last...

Mummy passed away peacefully at 8.30pm last night.
I was trying to book a ticket back from Bangkok, but didn't manage to do it.
The next possible flight is in 2h time and I've just checked in.
Last week, Papa told me that we must not cry.
We must let Mummy not have anything to hold her back.
That day, I also realised he took down their wedding photo in the room.
It is sometimes scary to see Papa so strong, too strong.
Maybe learnings from our faith help.
As I sit waiting for our flight, I only want to remember her smiles.
On Friday, she said Goodnight and Bye Bye to Ollie, smiling.
Happy Mothers' Day, Mummy.

Ollie Is Turning 5 Months!

Ollie will be exactly 5 months tomorrow!
We took her to the zoo today.
The weather was great.
Not too hot.
I did my preparation work, of course.
Cooling gel pillow.
Cooling gel pack.
Ice blocks to keep them cool.
Cold drinks & fruits for us.
Two fans.
Two power banks.
Ponchos.
Haha. RAMS done.
I know it's kind of early to bring Ollie to the zoo.
Well, I need to keep myself updated with the place
to prepare colouring activities and plan worksheets.
It's not easy to homeschool but I know I can.
Next learning journey will be this weekend,
we're off to BKK again!
