Yet another great day :)

Started day with massage by Sri :)
Good one as usual.
Picked dear up from pool for lunch and decided to go Cheng San.
Decided on something sinful - Laksa, but it's not nice. Nothing like Katong's.
Sorry, but I'm going to waste food.
I know tonnes of people out there with no food, but I cannot sacrifice my daily calories on things that are not satisfying.
And so, dear got me carrot cake - Black!
And of course my kopi kopi!
Went to do pedicure after dear went for more lessons.
Then met colleen and jerry for coffee @ amk mac.
The rain is pouring now!!!
Gonna fetch dear for dinner.

Rainy rainy

I only like rainy weather when I'm in bed and I can go on sleeping. I don't like it when I'm driving or out or need to get to an unsheltered carpark or when I need to get up for school.

But still, whatever the weather, thank god for it :)

Everyday is a happy day!

Extremely long day in school today.
Ended @ 530pm after track.
Am glad I missed contact time.
Heard that P and VP aren't kind with words.
And I though psychology trained should know even better about positive reinforcement. Or was that simply Piaget? Or was it Vgotsky? Or whatever la.
I'm not angry with her.
I simply don't like my VP.
Dear friends, don't need to ask me to relax.
I'm not angry. I'm almost like the most relaxed person in school already.
And nuggets make me even happier! :p
I feel so happy being honest and declaring that I don't like her :)

Spent $100 on shampoo and hair tonic after dinner with dear.
These stuff better be good!
Haha.

Came home to settle some admin stuff.
The Summer St sign was from States, from Daze. Lucky Box :D

And my swimming mp3 player was on DL. Haha. And supposedly a better one!

How do I teach and keep my sanity (and my good personal life)!

Was at the library last night.
Intended to find the book, Why Teachers Quit.
Couldn't find the book, instead, borrowed a few others.
And this one, How do I Teach and Keep my Sanity by Kathy Paterson, is a book I quite like.
Favourite part is not all about teaching in class but the part about Taking Care of Yourself.
Great start to the section.
She said that "Teachers are their own worst enemies when it comes to self-time and self-nurturing."
I totally agree. Even more true, she said that we cannot take the students home with us and we cannot solve all problems in classroom/school. We have limitations.
And I stick to my personal goal, I do my best. I work for my kids.
And she wrote a great poem.

I don't want to work today.
Please make those children go away!
I did not get much sleep last night.
Please get those kids out of my sight!
My lessons are not planned, I fear.
Please make the students disappear!

Oh! Here they come. They're here, I see.
Their shining eyes look up at me!
All full of smiles and bubbling noise.
Those darling girls, those precious boys!
Forgot those things I prayed before.
I want to teach forever more!

I'm sure some teachers remained in the service for a job, for the $$$
I'm also sure, some teachers perservered on in the service or the kids.
Thank to the latter, their love and passion were not damped by everything, by the managements, the packages, the 'supposedly-to-help-the-kids' matters, the long hours, the redundant and meaningless meetings.
We all do our best for the kids, that's all.

Despite the tiredness in school, I had a great day!

Left school at 4plus to shop a bit at Parkway.

Bought dear his vday press. Hee :)

Then marj joined me for a bit of shopping.

Will collect pants from Nanz on Fri.

Since I'm always a target for wearing the wrong stuff, I will just stick to big tops and pants.

But poor RO of mine, arrowed to tell me about my attire.

Dear and I popped by ski park to look for aud, wc and jan ...

Had dinner at jumbo with dear. Yumz.

Lying on bed watching tv. Shiok.
