Children Full of Life

Barely 2 minutes of watching this (sitting at the recept area of the centre), i'm almost crying. how many of us can tell the class at the beginning of the year that we only have one life and the most important thing is to be happy. everything here is psle, ca1, sa1, ca2, sa2, going for redundant workshops. tonnes of do-to-show-and-get-pb events, lots of b*tches. my love for kids is still here and always will be. but passion for the work is diminishing. maybe i am not as good as you or whoever (you are thinking have been in it for so long and is managing and hanging on). i try my best to do everything for the kids, yet everyday i've no time and i've to tell the girls, ok, sorry, we've to do it fast, exams are coming.



I barely have time to try to get to know what is happening in their lives, what they really want, and connect whatever i am teaching with their life. and no i'm not giving up, i'm just aiming for, doing what i still want to do for children, in a different environment.







they are still the motivation to get to work. and actually, the thoughts of not seeing them every morning makes me tear again  ...

Whose education is it anyway?

Was reading Dr. Cheah's blog ... and I particularly like this entry.

Excerpt from her blog:

I ask this because I feel teachers take their responsibilities to their students too seriously. Whoa, I can hear all of you saying, “But they should!” Yes, they should, to a certain extent. Are teachers always responsible for all of their students’ learning? I don’t think so. Students have to do their bit too as do their parents. But, you protest, “Isn’t that what teachers are paid to do?” Well, yes and no. Just because they are paid, doesn’t mean they have to do everything. I’m sure many of our domestic maids are paid too, but they are not expected to do everything for the child or the family.
But as I said, teachers take their jobs very seriously, and this is both a good and bad thing. The good part is that we can always rely on our teachers, but the bad part is that teachers end up doing their share of mollycoddling in school. And how do we do that in school? Well, I can think of many ways but how about these for a start? Accepting their sloppy work and correcting all the mistakes for them, rewriting their essays so that they can copy these out, and making and printing out copious notes which students will usually put away, to be forgotten as soon as school is over?

Was watching TLC - Cake Off then Cake Boss.
And before I change my mind, I've decided, I really do not need a $5000 Chanel bag for my 30th Birthday.
I think I just want a Chanel cake to celebrate with mummy and papa and boy and dear @ MBS this year.
Of course, wisdom comes with age.
I think I would rather dear use the $5000 to get a fridge, oven, coffee maker, etc for our future house :)
I've enough Chanel slippers and shoes and bags :)

1. Supposed to go and see gowns but the bridal place made a mistake and was not available for us.

2. Sorry Marj, JR and Norin for the wasted trip.

3. We decided to have fries @ Everything With Fries! Yumz. (Read: Overload of carbo)

4. Went to Saucony warehouse sale. Dear and JR shopped to their hearts' content.

5. Headed to Holiday Inn to made payment of deposit for banquet.

6. Visited Peina and Anton (ok, John too) :p and thanks to Peina and John :) for the overload of KFC and Pizzahut :p

7. Shall watch my drama!

Great day!

The day was originally good and made better :)
Our track team made very good improvement :)
Won a total 5 bronze and 1 silver and 2 divisions are standing at 6th position.
Maybe it shouldn't be good improvement but very good improvement.
When I was screaming my lungs out for my girl, I'm almost tearing too.
Every year @ the track finals, no matter how well we did (divisional champion and broken records) or how not as well we did (ONLY ONE trophy), I still believe and know our girls did their best and I still feel for them.
So many years with the team and my oldest girls in Poly and Colleges, I'm glad this last time I'm taking them, they are improving.
Hopefully they will do well always.
My 1845 class was cancelled and dear and I decided to go par tor! :)
Watched Rio. Nice movie :)
Did our shopping (again) @ Bodyshop.
Am lying on bed watching cable now.
Bliss.

Today, dear and I went to HISOCC to sign the contract. All settled. For extremely good deals. Yeah :)

My Great Weekend ...

Dear and I had our long days yesterday :)

But it ended on a good note as usual :)

Such co-incidence when I bbm Norin to tell her we're @ SSC,

they were there too.

Initially, Dear did not want to have Jap food and we almost decided to have Chinese food ...

But, when the three of us sort of decided to have Ajisen, Dear didn't have a choice :p

Majority wins and yeah! Ramen!
