Olympia's 1st Visit to the Orphanage

After all the festivities, it's time to return to the society. Other than the Children's Homes we go to in Thailand & in Singapore, we decided to visit one in Malaysia to help them as well.

This one is just a 15 minutes drive away from home. Not knowing what they need yet, we packed the new and unworn diapers (Ollie cannot fit in those newborn and small size diapers anymore). They have three babies (youngest is one month old) and the diapers will be handy. They have 50 over children and the oldest is 17. Found out what they need and we will return to deliver the items maybe within the next two weeks.

I hope Ollie will learn to be kind to others and give more than she receives / will receive.

After the good deed, we also had a good lunch! Packed and extremely warm! Luckily she managed to stay good and quiet in the carrier. I love babywearing. The closeness with Ollie is priceless. Haha. Laogong & I are always fighting to babywear Ollie.

Pleasant Monday we had!

Chinese New Year 2015

This is the first CNY with Ollie and of course,

a new baby in the house is always everyone's favourite.

It was an easy time because everyone wanted to carry her!

We didn't even bring the baby seat or carrier around

when we went for visitation.

Had our reunion dinner and decided to bring Olympia

to River Hong Bao.

It was also my first time!

I never like crowd or places that I know will be very warm.

Well, I did enjoy the night with my little family.

Lucky Ollie has many sets of new clothes,

thanks to all my lovely friends and parents 

of my students.

She changed an average of two to three

sets a day and well, still has new dresses

to change into!

As usual, visited Laogong's side and my side.

The most tiring day!

We stayed home in the day and had friends over.

In the evening, we went over to our neighbour's

place for a BBQ.

Great day it was!

初三

We had friends over as well as the annual lion dance!

Friends will know our love for lion dance.

We had to have it!

Relaxing evening for the day and well,

CNY is sort of nuff' said for us.

Chill and relax for the rest of the day.

初四

Life is back to usual!

Had brunch at our favourite Tea Garden and we

slack the afternoon away.

Not so much of a slacking day for Ollie.

She had her weekly swim.

Love to see her kicking happily.

It must have been quite a workout for her.

We headed to Jusco for early dinner and shopping.

She was snoozing happily in the carrier from 4+ to about 8pm.

Back home, fed her and changed her and she is still snoozing 

as I type this post.

I love CNY with the family and even more so now,

with the new addition.

And that leads me to the special Devilz Family Collage.

Haha, it seems to be a year where the whatsapp is slightly

more active on CNY (even our super busy Bucky replies!)

Hope everyone is having a great CNY and 

definitely going to have a great year ahead!

三羊开泰

It was a great Monday!
We left the house early (9am instead of 10+) for breakfast (where else but Tea Garden - Laogong's favourite for now) so that we can be the first to queue at the car polishing place.
Who knows, we reached Jusco at 9.40am and we were sixth in queue!
Still, we didn't manage to polish the car there because we were not members with Carz.
Whatever.
Off we went to run errands and shop a bit.
A couple of times previously when we were at Jusco, Olympia was in the stroller.
This time round, Laogong was carrying her and we managed to take our wefie!
Bought whatever we wanted and drove over to Tesco.
Finally managed to get our car polished there.
Shopped around and had lunch at Starbucks.
Sad that our favourite Duck Fettuccine was not available.
Went back home and 'helped' the part time cleaners with the house.
Trashed away two big bags of rubbish.
Finally the house is quite tidied.
They didn't managed the car porch (Cny, same price, fewer hours - and they keep asking me to top up for additional hours) so Laogong volunteer to wash it on Wednesday.
Happy with the clean house.
Thankful for the dinner with our taman's friends.
Came back, bathed Olympia, put her to bed.
Laogong also fell asleep with her.
Fed Charcoal.
Did laundry.
Finally, I had time to make a coffee and do some admin for Laogong.
It's 3.51am now.
Did quite a bit of work.
Wondering if Olympia will wake up soon so that I can breastfeed her (doesn't look like).
I shall do some pumping because I'm tired also and I can't wait anymore.
Guess she will wake up at 7am...

Daily Blessings

Life definitely wasn't what it used to be.

Life definitely is getting better. 

It is such a blessing to wake up to Olympia sleeping beside us. 

It is such a blessing to be breathing healthily. 

It is such a blessing to have my family members supporting me. 

It is such a blessing that we have lots more blessings being showered upon us all the time. 

It's 2.33am. 

10 years ago, I might be out clubbing with Bb Ni, even on a weekday night. 

5 years ago, I might be watching a movie with laogong. 

Last year, I might still be cleaning the house in the middle of the night before Cny.

And now, I'm Ollie's mummy watching her (and laogong) sleep. 

Again,  I'm thankful and blessed that (oh, did I hear Ollie snore while I type?!)  Ollie is growing well and life with her has been fun and meaningful so far. 

I know some might tell me that now is the easiest because she only sleeps, eats and cries. 

I'm enjoying every moment and ready to take on any challenges with her.

I had a SAHM job offer. Haha. 

I decided to reject it for now. 

Will reconsider the option again if necessary. 

With a 14h-work-week, the break away from parenting is doing me good. 

Will keep to that for awhile. 

Till then, back to gazing at Ollie as I doze off to bed. 

立春

First day of Spring! 

May all enjoy good health and good wealth. 

Thankful for the abundance of blessings we have been showered with.  

We'll continue to return to the society as we receive. 

All of us decked in new clothes! 

Ollie is in there dress Jackie bought from her. 

She is opening her CDA account today! 

Laogong is also in his new shirt as he deposit money. 

No,  I'm not in red, am in orange! Hehe... 

Huat ah! 

Ollie's 3rd Successful Swimming Session

To facilitate the heating of water, we bought a portable stove so that we can boil water (in the huge pot I used to boil herbs for my confinement) before the swim. 

As usual,  we have to make sure she is not sleepy,  well fed and warmed up. 

This time round, we let her float around with her neck float first. 

Then she seems to have the desire (haha,  we thought so!)  to want to remove the neck float, so we removed it and let her float around with a bit of support of course. 

She floated for quite a while, maybe because it was an all new experience! 

I think we'll wait till she is 3 months old before we let her go underwater. 

In the meantime, floating around is good enough of a water play / experience for her! 

Loving my new Tuesday

Slept in with Laogong and Ollie yesterday and today. Loving it. 

Yes, we can sleep in (except for the 5-10min of feeding at 6+). 

I fed and Laogong did a quick change of diaper and we continued sleeping. 

3 of us slept till 9+ before we head out to the market for our favourite chicken rice! 

It is an extremely hot day, thus, the holey holey outfit for Ollie. 

House-chores-fruitful-day for the house-chores-fanatic me. 

Two rounds of feeding Ollie and two rounds of nap (still napping now) is very useful for me. 

Thank you, Ollie. 

You are such a darling. 

Managed to do laundry. 

Managed to wash the sheets and put them back. 

Managed to wash the quilt (still I'm the dryer). 

Managed to clear off (read: throw) stuff from the storeroom and dining table (huge mass :p). 

Swept the car porch. 

Wiped some of my slippers. 

Cooked lunch. 

Very happy I am! 

Glad that at least I managed to fulfil part of one of my two ambition (teach: doing it still). 

The second one is to be a housewife! 

Tuesdays used to be a teaching day but now it's a home with Ollie day.

Anyway, shall blog about Ollie's swimming session yesterday and tomorrow's buffet lunch with some Dec2014 mummies in another post(s). 

Family Day

Yeah! 

It's Papa's off day! 

We're going out together! 

Woohoo! 

I hope Papa has lots programme planned for me. 

Does he? Or does mummy?

Life with Ollie so far .. Has been great ...

Finally, after Laogong's super busy week

or should I say month, we manage to 

have breakfast together today.

It was a nice warm fuzzy feeling when

Laogong asked me what I wanted for

breakfast and before I could reply, he

asked if I wanted to go 大四喜 for

dim sum.

That was exactly what I had in mind!

Back home, Olympia fell asleep after Laogong 

went out and and she had her milk. 

It's then my me-time to get some housework done, 

work done, catch up on some drama, etc.

Some activities this week.

Olympia and Josh (Jas and I) had our breakfast date

on Wednesday.

I didn't even know there is such a place call

East Village.

Breakfast was not bad but Jas and I didn't have 

enough caffeine and we headed for more :p

Yesterday, as usual, Laogong had his tourist 

students at Shangri-la.

Decided to head to town with him in the

morning, while he was in class, 

I went to grab a coffee with Olympia.

Nothing much for the day, slacked the day 

away ...

There is a new Sayed Bistro at Adda Ave

(my favourite coffee shop because they

always have chandeliers!)

and we decided to go there for dinner.

So far, we are enjoying our Parties of 3.

Olympia is a very good girl.

(And no, no pantang, some believe that 

we cannot praise babies, but no, 

if she is good, Praise!)

Ollie is now 7 weeks old!

It's been great spending time with her.

Haha. Really, most of the time, things

are doing great!

I always tell people who ask me how I am,

"I am a natural mummy!"

I may not be a best mummy

but I definitely try and give all my best 

to Ollie.

I just need to be the best for her.

Laogong has been helping out a lot despite 

his busy schedule.

Really looking forward to next week onward,

when he is not going to be as busy.

This year, I cut down my teaching hours by 

more than half.

I had to reject and turn down many students.

Of course, this also means that my shopping 

allowance is cut by half.

However, nothing can be more precious than

spending time and watching Ollie grow up.

Looking forward to more great days with 

Laogong and Ollie.

TGIF with Laogong & Ollie ...

Laogong has lots of additional classes these two weeks,

mainly the tourists, one after another.

Totally feeling tired for him.

I really miss mornings with him!

Basically, since the week after New Year's Day,

the tourists' lessons aka his OT started.

FINALLY, he didn't have or chose not to have 

additional classes today and we have family time!

Went to My Rail for breakfast (though we had dinner 

there last night).

MR DIY to grab some CNY and miscellaneous stuff.

Then we headed home to prepare for Olympia's

water experience #2.

1. Make sure she is fed.

2. Change her into her new costume.

3. Warm up.

And off we go!

She was absolutely tired after the swim!

So as not to waste the pool of water,

and the housechore-loving me,

I told Laogong to take over taking care of Ollie.

I decided to wash the car porch, clean up stuff, rinse some stuff, etc.

Extremely tired but love to see my house clean!

Took over from Laogong when he went off for his usual 

Friday lessons.

Watched my drama series, did admin work for lessons tomorrow, 

did laundry, cooked dinner and now with Ollie in my arms again,

time to put her to bed!

Can't wait to start lessons tomorrow!

Hello Children (and teenagers-to-be), Teacher Summer is back!

Olympia's Photoshoot

Will blog about the end products (as mentioned in previous post)  when we receive them after Chinese New Year.

With the intention to shop...

On Monday,  with the intention to have lunch then shop then do Olympia's 胎毛笔 (brush made of baby hair) and 脐带章 (to seal up the umbilical cord) , we ended up with only lunch and Olympia's agenda. Haha. Actually, we didn't do the  胎毛笔 in the end. The person wanted to shave all her hair to do the brush and I objected violently (really). Decided not to do that and do the seal. We also decided to do her handprint and footprint and gold plate them. The package gave us a free photoshoot or rather, Ollie. We ended seeing more than three hours at the shop! She was super tired after the mini photoshoot. I learnt some parenting tips there from the mother of four boss. Can't wait to see the end products!
